Research Engineer

Jack Fitzgerald Sice

Jack recently completed his Bachelor of IT (Hons I) majoring in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Science majoring in Physics and Mathematics. His Honours thesis looked at ways to ensure that autonomous (Reinforcement Learning) agents behave safely during and after learning, using the language of Formal Methods. Other undergraduate projects included a research project on nonlinear dynamical systems; and an industry capstone project that aggregated cellular networks for a prototype remote VR product.

Jack’s interest in Computer Science developed when he tried to improve an inefficient office workflow and realised he needed a degree in Computer Science to do it. He currently tutors Data Science in Business at the University of Sydney, having previously tutored Models of Computation. He started working at Gradient Institute as a Summer Scholar and now works on research and training resource development as a member of the team.
