The Responsible AI Index report has launched

The Responsible AI Index report is a study of over 400 Australian-based organisations and their awareness of, intentions around, and use of Responsible AI practices. This report, a first in Australia of its kind, was launched in partnership with IAG, Telstra, Fifth Quadrant CX, and Ethical AI Advisory.

Overall, Australian businesses are classified as Initiating (62%) with Manufacturing, Financial Services, and Telecommunications as the top-scoring sectors. The study found that only 8 percent of organisations were “mature” in their approach to Responsible AI. 51% of organisations have an AI strategy in place in their business and only 32% of organisations believed they were capable of implementing Responsible AI. The study showed a significant Responsible AI gap in Australian businesses.

The Responsible AI gap is an opportunity for Australian businesses to step right up and build a trusted brand around creating and deploying AI in a responsible way.

You can find the report and more resources (including the self-assessment tool) on Fifth Quadrant’s site. You can see the full announcement here.
